I am amazed at the rate at which this site is growing - nearly 100 new members in less than a week. Discussions are starting, and have been very interesting so far.
I realize that most people here are still testing the waters to find out how useful this site will be.
Let's assume that this is becoming a very useful resource for martial artists to connect with each other and to share information. Who would be willing to donate a small amount to contribute towards site upgrades?
Collectivex offers a few paid upgrades, some of which might be rather nice here like statistics and our own domain. Also, we could potentially get rid of collectiveX's advertising. I wouldn't want to foot the bill 100% myself, but if enough people were willing to donate small amounts (say around $4-5Us) I would opt for the upgrades.
I'd probably use a paypal donate button. I may also insert Google Adwords to help defray costs and provide more relevant ads. My goal is not to make money at all from this site, but merely to meet new people.
So, what say you? Would you donate? What features would you like to see?
